The carnival has come to town for the 4th of July festivities!
Tonight we took the boys over to see all the rides...Kaden could hardly contain himself. We bought some tickets for him to choose a ride to go on. He picked some trucks that went around in a circle and up and down. The look on his face was priceless. So proud. I was afraid that when it ended he would throw a fit (this is his common reaction to things he can ride). Nope, he just got off like a big boy. So we got him a few more tickets to go on another ride. We looked all around and after seeing everything, he wanted to head back to the ride he already was on. He know's what he likes! It was sad for him when we had to leave.
Later this week we will be taking the boys to Dutch Wonderland, I'm really looking forward to it now that I know how much Kaden enjoyed himself tonight!

Splash Zone
Today we enjoyed the beautiful weather and went to Cascade Lake. It was the first time we were ever there. They have a place for the kids to play where water sprays up every which way.... .jpg)
It was a little chilly, but Kaden did finally get into being wet above the waist!

They also have a lake where Ethan enjoyed playing in the sand.

Kaden had a great time swimming with Brian.....and having a water fight. This picture is the end result....obviously Kaden did not like getting water in his face!

Cherries Anyone?
What do you get when you cross three eager adults (plus two kids) and six buckets? 62 pounds of cherries!
Yes, you did hear me right.
The reaction you had was probably the same as Mom, Dad and I when we weighed in. My guess was 23 pounds, mom's was 30....boy were we wrong!
So here are some pictures of our grand adventure.
Kaden and Pops on the ladder.....Kaden has no fear at all!
Ethan is perfectly happy to fill one bucket with himself. (Thank goodness for this or else we would have filled that with cherries too!!!)
Here is Grama, Pops, Kaden and Ethan. They are making sure that we fill that last bucket.
Here we are back at the house with our treasures. Next year we will not be picking this many. Tonight I have already canned 12 jars and still have more to do! I will also make some cobbler's and share some fresh ones.
And here are the fruits of our labor!
What a day with great memories!

Anniversary Wishes A Day Late
Happy Anniversary Wishes to Brian's parents who celebrated yesterday. They are now heading towards the big 40 next year! We are so thankful for their example to us, and for choosing to love each other all these years.

Mr. Frog
Bear with me.. I have a lot of pictures for this post.
This past saturday we spent with Grama and Pops. We are all so excited to have them back from Alaska! We spent the day talking about the trip, looking at pictures and then of course the boys enjoyed some time outside. They made the most of the hot weather... Ethan did some swimming...
Kaden helped pick strawberries......
Then we went for a ride in the Road Runner.
Here Kaden is fearing for his life....
Today Kaden made a new friend.
This poor frog (seen driving the tractor) was hopping through the wrong sandbox at the wrong time! He ended up driving most of Kaden's sand toys. The frog got a lucky break when we decided to go to the store and leave him in a box. Mr. Frog saw his chance and was no where to be seen when we got home!

Look Who's Sixty
Happy Birthday to 'Pops'...whose stretching out his 60 year old muscles today!

The boys and I are heading to see Grama and Pops after lunch. They just got back from their cruise last night, so we will spend the afternoon and supper with them.
The staff arrived today for staff training. Brian has a very busy weekend ahead of him....plus with the weather being above 90, it's going to be a tiring day.
Also birthday wishes to our dog Sadee. She will enjoy a cupcake later this afternoon!
