Summer Finally Here!

The weather was warm enough to pull out the sprinkler yesterday. Kaden enjoyed licking the streams of water.......

...while Ethan preferred to crawl for his life!
Kaden also had fun hitting the ball as it came out of the sprinkler by a stream of water. It was a good time.

A Teaspoon of Sand Keeps the Doctor Away

Oh, where has the week gone?

First of all, Congratulations to my cousin and his wife who just had a baby this past week. Joshua James, 8 lbs 7 ounces....another boy to join the tribe!

This week I have been busy rescuing the landscaping around a few of our camp buildings. It's a jungle, but I have managed to sort through mounds of Hostas and thin them out! (If anyone of you ever needs Hostas, do not buy them...we have so many here that need split!)

The boys have spent most of their time playing in the sandbox. I have to keep my eyes on them constantly...Kaden now enjoys feeding Ethan sand with a spoon! They also enjoy throwing the sand! There is always a constant haze of sand dust flying through the air. Needless to say, they NEED baths every night!

Brian has gone from busy to extremely busy. We have a retreat this weekend, and then our staff begins to arrive next week. Please pray that God's Spirit would move among all that enter through the gates of the camp this summer!

Mr. Golden Sun

The weather this week could be summed up as rainy, windy and cold....with the occasional sunshine peeking through the clouds! Any time the sun began to shine, we made a mad dash to get outside!!! Here the boys are enjoying a nice wagon ride.

Today we kicked off the Memorial Day weekend by having the staff over for a cook-out. It was a great time of food and fellowship.

From our family to yours, have a great holiday weekend!

Back in the Swing of Things

We had a great time in NC last weekend. We were able to see a lot of people and get some much needed rest. The boys also did very well traveling. It was a fun time away as a family.

Now we are back and into the full swing of things. Life is starting to get a little more hectic as we approach June. Some of the staff is already beginning to arrive and prepare for camp. God has definetly been providing all of our staffing needs!

Around the house we are busy. We have some tadpoles in a bucket that Kaden is keeping his eyes on....he can't wait for them to turn to frogs. He constantly shakes the bucket, the're probably scared to death!

Here are also some updated pictures of the tree house we've been making. We still have to get a slide and few other things.

Here Kaden is showing how he can climb. Ethan is eating sand in the background.

Ethan enjoying the beautiful weather.

Kaden-Urkel!

Have a great weekend.

Rivers of Ice Cream

The weather has been beautiful. Yesterday, we took a walk to our local ice cream place, Bonkey's. Great homemade ice cream. Next time we go, I will have to take some pictures. Kaden always has streams of ice cream running down his entire body. He's not much to share, and usually moves further away from us when we try to taste his treat....he's kind of like Pops with his desserts!

Today we are getting ready for our trip to NC this weekend. We will be visiting with friends and then going to a wedding on sunday. This is our first LONG trip with both the boys, so we'll see how that goes. I'm sure I'll have some good stories when we get back.

Last night Sadee went to stay with Grama and Pops while we're away. I have been missing here today. Food that usually got cleaned up the instant it hit the floor is still there from breakfast. It makes me ask myself, "Who does the cleaning? Me or the dog!"

New to the World

Congratulations to Crystal and Justin. Their baby girl was born yesterday at 4:30 pm. Her name is Olivia Katherine and she weighed 8 lbs and I've heard various reports on the ounces...... It will be exciting having another little one around the family!
